How AAS has appeared?

In the end of 2007, some elements of the Sporting's group "Ofensiva 1906" organize a private Seminar in an hotel in Lisbon, where the club could be discussed in an openly and sincere way.
Several invitations were made to people with different perspectives of the club, but also a rather diverse range of professionals, coming from so different areas as Law, Marketing, Economics or several Engineerings.

The Seminar was, then, organized in February 2008 and, after a whole day discussion between 25 people, the outcome was always the lack of answer to the question "What can we do?".
In fact none of the persons present there could, on its own, have a crutial impact on the club. But there was a commom sense whereas everybody agreed that, altogether we could play a different and positive role with the club's board.
There was also the feeling that much more members from Sporting had the same feeling of impotence and were getting away from the club, each day goes by.

At this stage, the creation of an official Supporters Association was considered, but one that could represent not only the official members, but all fans spread all over the world. This way, we try to reach other fans of the club while seeking their contribute for the club.

To be able to work in the interest of the Sporting's fans all over the world, playing a decisive role making a bridge between them and the club, trying to bring the family from Sporting together and uphold the ideal behind Sporting Clube of Portugal.

Several contacts were made at the time, meetings and finally the statutes of the Association were approved by all of the founders

We are well aware of this project's inovation in the context of the portuguese football and sports, as there are no associativism culture in the country, from the fans side if we exclude the ultrá groups.

Being so, this is a unique and decisive opportunity for all Sporting fans to initiate a new period in our family, where everybody can contribute with its opinion, initiatives and desires, considering all issued related to the club. Because this project is for all of us to make Sporting a better club.
