Who are we?
The Sporting Clube de Portugal Supporter's Association,AAS arises as a consequence of the obvious disregard of the supporters towards its club, being easily measured by the latest assistances, the number of official supporters or by their loss of power within the club.
The sport scene has change dramatically in the last years, especially since the SAD’s were created. A new shape was foreseen then with the new player on the pitch – the shareholder (being private or institutional) which has contributed to a power split within the clubs organization.
This split, often uneven, has lead to the get away of the supporters who couldn’t accept being treated purely as consumers.
This is where AAS has its influence. Achieving the union of the supporters, bringing their opinions back into the club whilst being the major contact point between the supporters and the club, realizing that only as one we shall have the power we require within the club.
We will look forward to organize several events, from informal debate sessions to familiar ones, either celebrating special occasions or just by exchanging ideas, points of view about a given subject, making sure these opinions and consensus arrive to the knowledge of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sporting Clube de Portugal. We aim to establish several protocols with national entities in order to get special conditions for our associates to obtain products or services.
We are not the “opposition” neither a place to develop one. We simply don’t care about the name of the chairman of our club, as long as our values (the club’s ones) are uphold. The presence of the Chairman of the Board of Directors as well as the Chairman of the General Assembly of the club in our kick/off event – Forum “Tradição e Distinção” (Tradition and Distinction) is a proof of the club institutional recognition towards the important role this Association can preserve.
This will be our elected spot to reach all supporters of our clube.
Because Sporting Club of Portugal is counting on you!
